More than a decade ago, we set out to honor and preserve the values of the American Dream, both at home and around the world, and to make positive changes that would expand access to opportunity. Even as the Dream has been realized by many despite the barriers they have encountered, we understand that equal access to that Dream does not exist for everyone. We sought a home for this effort that was befitting the task itself. In 2014, we acquired the Riggs Bank building across from the US Treasury and White House, along a storied stretch of Pennsylvania Avenue once known as the People’s Street. We have spent the years since acquiring, permitting, renovating, and restoring this historic complex of buildings in Washington, DC.
As we prepare to open our doors to millions of visitors from around the world, we seek partners and supporters who share our urgency about preserving and expanding the American Dream and—more important—who share our sense of hope. Contributions—at any level—will provide the support necessary to build immersive exhibits and experiences, launch educational programming and resources, and tell dynamic stories of the American Dream that inspire and empower visitors to pursue their own dreams.
