We are excited to announce a new strategic partnership with the Legatum Institute to develop and utilize a pioneering American Dream Prosperity Index. The new Index will help reveal the pathways from poverty to prosperity across the United States, enabling all Americans to achieve their dreams.
The partnership builds on Legatum Institute’s experience of Index creation and research to highlight the trends shaping prosperity across the United States. It will provide a unique and holistic framework to help identify how prosperity can be developed in all 50 states and Washington, D.C. Comprised of more than 200 indicators, gathered from more than 80 separate data sources, the Index provides policymakers, investors, philanthropists, and community leaders with key information to make better data-driven decisions. It also provides journalists, researchers, and citizens access to meaningful data to better understand the impact of decisions being made that impact their communities.
The new index will highlight the importance of the core components of prosperity; including strengthening communities, promoting freedom, and encouraging people to pursue new ideas and dreams with an entrepreneurial spirit. In doing so, it will showcase the key values that are proven to build prosperity and that help to drive human progress and bring all Americans one step closer to realizing their extraordinary potential.
The collaboration marks an exciting new chapter for both the Legatum Institute and the Milken Center for Advancing the American Dream. The research partnership promises to help shine a spotlight on the issues that are currently limiting the economic, social, and institutional well-being of individuals and communities across the country. The 2022 American Dream Prosperity Index will be released in Fall 2022.
